The short answer

Triver offers what it calls cashflow streaming for UK businesses: you choose individual unpaid invoices and receive an advance against them, which settles automatically by direct debit when your customer pays. It describes facilities up to £1 million, advances of £100 to £100,000, and says it is not a loan or traditional factoring.

What does Triver offer?

Triver publishes one product for UK businesses. The table above gives the amounts and terms as it states them.

  • Cashflow streaming (invoice advances): Advance settles automatically by direct debit when your customer pays; typically 99% of invoice value advanced.

Cashflow streaming (invoice advances)

Triver advances against selected unpaid invoices. A business connects accounting software or uploads invoices, chooses which to advance and accepts the offer. When the customer pays, settlement happens by direct debit. Facilities are up to £1 million, each advance up to £100,000, with a £100 minimum. Triver describes it as not a loan and not factoring, and says customers are not notified. Eligible invoices are in GBP for completed work, payment terms of 10 to 120 days, and not to consumers or sole traders.

What does Triver fund?

Triver says its finance is used for:

  • Advancing cash against unpaid invoices
  • Smoothing cashflow
  • Using funds as needed

What it says it does not fund:

  • Invoices to consumers and sole traders are not eligible

Who can apply to Triver?

Triver publishes these criteria. Meeting them does not mean an application will be accepted: every lender makes its own decision.

  • Invoices in GBP issued to UK limited companies, LLPs or public sector buyers, or to non-UK large corporates.
  • Invoices in USD or EUR only where issued to foreign large corporates.
  • Invoices must be for completed work.
  • Payment terms of 10 to 120 days.
  • Invoice must fall within your approved facility limit.

How do you apply to Triver?

Triver describes its process like this:

  1. Connect accounting software or upload invoices.
  2. Select invoices to advance and accept the offer.
  3. Customer pays; settlement by direct debit.

Information it says it asks for:

  • Accounting data (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) or uploaded invoices

Every application is subject to status and the lender’s own criteria at the time.

How it works: invoice finance

Invoice finance releases cash tied up in unpaid invoices: the provider advances part of an invoice’s value when you raise it and pays the balance, less its charges, when your customer pays. With factoring the provider collects from your customers; with invoice discounting you keep collecting yourself.

Providers assess your customers as much as your own business: who owes you, on what terms and how concentrated the debt is. It suits firms that sell on credit to other businesses, such as recruitment agencies and manufacturers.

Points Triver publishes that are worth knowing:

  • Says it does not contact your customers; they keep paying you directly.
  • Says there is no registered charge against your business.
  • You choose which invoices to advance and when.
  • Connects to Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, or invoices can be uploaded manually.

Is Triver regulated?

The pages we checked do not carry a regulatory statement, so we describe none. Ask Triver how it is regulated and check any claim on the FCA Register.

Protections differ by borrower type and loan size. Most lending to limited companies is not regulated consumer credit, so read the agreement and ask the lender what applies to you.

What are the alternatives to Triver?

Other providers of invoice finance with profiles here include Kriya, Aldermore Bank and Bibby Financial Services. Each profile uses that lender’s own published terms.

Applying through a broker

Capzy is a credit broker, not a lender, and gets paid by the lender. One application lets your business compare options across lenders, so you can weigh this kind of facility against the alternatives. You can check your funding options with a soft search that does not affect your credit score. A full application to a lender may involve a hard search, and any offer is subject to status and lender criteria.
