What does Liberty Finance offer?
Liberty Finance publishes 3 products for UK businesses. The table above gives the amounts and terms as it states them.
- Hire purchase: Fixed payments, regular or with a final balloon; option to own on payment of an Option to Purchase fee.
- Finance lease: Fixed regular lease payments; at the end hand the asset back or enter a secondary rental.
- Refinance: Assets sold to Liberty at current market value; capital released against monthly payments over an agreed period.
Hire purchase
Customers source the asset, Liberty underwrites the deal and pays the seller directly. Financing runs from £10,000 to £2,000,000 over up to 5 years, with no mileage restrictions. Liberty keeps a security interest in the asset until the Option to Purchase Fee is paid at the end, when the customer can own the asset or return it. Some agreements include a balloon payment. Available to businesses, sole traders, partnerships and high-net-worth individuals.
Finance lease
Customers use equipment for fixed monthly rentals without a large upfront payment, keeping assets up to date. Liberty’s page gives a range of £10,000 to £1,000,000. It describes personal, human-led underwriting and says an initial enquiry does not need a hard credit check.
Refinance
Customers sell assets they already own to Liberty at a price reflecting current market value, receive the released funds and repay monthly over an agreed term. Liberty says it is used to unlock working capital, improve cash flow or fund new equipment. Business applicants provide company registration details.

How it works: asset finance
Asset finance spreads the cost of equipment, vehicles or machinery, with the asset itself as the main security. Under hire purchase you own the asset once the final payment is made; under a lease you pay to use it and hand it back, extend or replace it at the end.
Lenders look at the asset’s age, condition and resale value as well as the business, and many fund used as well as new equipment. Sector pages such as transport and logistics finance and construction finance show how it is used in practice.
Points Liberty Finance publishes that are worth knowing:
- Hire purchase has no mileage restrictions and is available on new and used assets.
- A reduced settlement figure is offered to existing customers taking a new facility.
- Describes itself as an alternative lender considering cases other lenders may not.
- Employee-owned (Employee Ownership Trust).
Security and guarantees
On hire purchase, Liberty retains a security interest in the asset until the Option to Purchase Fee is paid. On refinance, the assets are sold to Liberty.
Is Liberty Finance regulated?
Liberty Finance’s site states: “Liberty Finance Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. FCA reference number: 707837”
Protections differ by borrower type and loan size. Most lending to limited companies is not regulated consumer credit, so read the agreement and ask the lender what applies to you.

Applying through a broker
Capzy is a credit broker, not a lender, and gets paid by the lender. One application lets your business compare options across lenders, so you can weigh this kind of facility against the alternatives. You can check your funding options with a soft search that does not affect your credit score. A full application to a lender may involve a hard search, and any offer is subject to status and lender criteria.
