What does Cubefunder offer?

Cubefunder publishes 2 products for UK businesses. The table above gives the amounts and terms as it states them.

  • Unsecured business loans: Customised around the business’s cash flow pattern.

Unsecured business loans

Loans of £5,000 to £100,000 with no collateral required. Repayment is flexible around business cash flow; its FAQ says the fixed cost of credit is divided across working days and collected by daily or weekly direct debit or business debit card, with no percentage of card takings taken. Early settlement is permitted without additional penalties. It uses Open Banking to read bank transaction data, and says credit checks are made after initial approval.

Short-term business loans

Loans of £5,000 to £100,000 over 3 to 12 months for limited companies registered in England or Wales with at least 3 months' trading and monthly revenue of at least £4,000. It says funds can be used for any business purpose, including working capital, HMRC payments, rent and rates, wages, stock, expansion and refurbishment. Repayment plans are tailored to cash flow with no early repayment penalties.

What does Cubefunder fund?

Cubefunder says its finance is used for:

  • Working capital
  • HMRC tax payments
  • Rent, rates and wages

  • Refurbishment

Sectors and business types it says it funds:

  • Bars and restaurants
  • Construction
  • Retail and e-commerce
  • Hair and beauty
  • Dental and optical practices
  • Auto garages
  • Hotels
  • Manufacturing

What it says it does not fund:

  • Accountants, financial services and debt collection agencies are not eligible; other sectors are assessed individually.
  • Start-ups with no revenue and businesses outside England and Wales.

Who can apply to Cubefunder?

Cubefunder publishes these criteria. Meeting them does not mean an application will be accepted: every lender makes its own decision.

  • Limited company registered in England or Wales.
  • Trading for at least 3 months.
  • Turnover of at least £4,000 per month.
  • Last 90 days of business bank transactions (Open Banking preferred).
  • Not available to accountants, financial services or debt collection agencies.

How do you apply to Cubefunder?

Cubefunder describes its process like this:

  1. Apply online or through the broker portal.
  2. Share about ninety days of business bank statements, preferably through Open Banking.
  3. The lender reviews the application and, after initial approval, runs a credit check with permission.
  4. Repayment method (direct debit or debit card) is discussed before funding.

Information it says it asks for:

  • Ninety days of business bank statements, via Open Banking (consents.online) or as PDFs
  • Permission for a credit check

Every application is subject to status and the lender’s own criteria at the time.

How it works: unsecured business loans

An unsecured business loan is a fixed sum repaid in instalments over an agreed term, without a charge over a specific asset. Most lenders still ask the directors for a personal guarantee, which makes them personally liable if the company cannot repay.

Lenders price each loan on the business’s trading history, turnover and credit profile, so the offer you receive can differ from the published range. Compare the total cost in pounds and the repayment pattern, not only the headline rate: our guide on how to compare business loan lenders shows how.

Points Cubefunder publishes that are worth knowing:

  • Loans are unsecured.
  • Says there are no additional fees for repaying early.
  • Runs a credit check with the applicant’s consent but says it does not decide on credit score alone.
  • Other sectors are considered case by case.
  • Sole traders needing £10,000 or less are directed to a separate route.

Security and guarantees

Loans are unsecured with no collateral. Its FAQ says new customers typically must provide personal guarantees from controlling directors, although the unsecured loan page does not mention one. Early settlement is permitted with no additional penalty.

Is Cubefunder regulated?

Cubefunder’s site states: “Cubefunder is the trading name of Tallaght Financial LTD, registered in England and Wales Registered Number: 09261403. Tallaght Financial LTD is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our firm reference number is 786297.”

Protections differ by borrower type and loan size. Most lending to limited companies is not regulated consumer credit, so read the agreement and ask the lender what applies to you.

Applying through a broker

Capzy is a credit broker, not a lender, and gets paid by the lender. One application lets your business compare options across lenders, so you can weigh this kind of facility against the alternatives. You can check your funding options with a soft search that does not affect your credit score. A full application to a lender may involve a hard search, and any offer is subject to status and lender criteria.
